Wedding at Eltham Lodge and St Margaret’s church in Blackheath, London – John & Philippa

Philippa and John’s wedding took place at the St. Margaret’s church in Blackheath, a beautiful and gothic embellished church that had undergone several decades of extensive restoration. The ceremony was made all the more poignant as it was the very same venue that John’s parents had got married all those years before. The wedding reception was held at the grand Eltham Lodge, the guests arrived in a red route master London bus which I had the pleasure of riding and taking some pictures of the guests whilst Dom drove in the Rolls Royce with the bride and groom.

Islington Metal Works and Town Hall Wedding Photography London – Alex & Ruth

Whilst Dom took care of Ruth’s bridal prep in their London apartment, I met up with Alex and his groomsmen at the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch for the groom prep photography. After a quick visit to a music store and a taxi ride to the pub for a sneaky pint we walked to the Islington Town Hall for the ceremony. Ruth arrived beautifully dressed in traditional Indian wedding attire whilst Alex looked slick and stylish in his blue suit and tan brogues. After the ceremony the wedding party walked en masse to the Islington Metal Works in Angel, making for a few nice shots as they walked through Camden Passage. The Islington Metal Works was a great wedding venue, its many quirks making for a unique backdrop for the wedding photography. Our photography for Alex and Ruth’s wedding has also been featured on the Boho Wedding website.

St Mary’s Church Hanwell and Landmark Arts Centre Teddington Wedding – Gwyn & Clare

Clare and Gwyn’s wedding at St Mary’s Church in Hanwell, London was a joy to shoot, featuring some splendid musical contributions topped off with the bride and groom ringing their own wedding bells. Gwyn and Clare left the church as husband and wife in a lovely red E-type jag, stopping of en-route to the reception venue for some photos in the park. The Landsmark Arts Centre in Teddington was a great space for the wedding reception and looked very classy amidst the decorations and colour schemes that Clare had meticulously planned. The bridge at Teddington lock had to be taken advantage of for a 2nd large group shot of all the guests.

Wedding photography at Church of the Sacred Heart Hove and rustic reception in Rottingdean near Brighton – Joe & Isla

We always like coming to Brighton, especially for a wedding. Isla and Joe’s wedding took place in the Church of the Sacred Heart, a lovely little church just off the Hove sea front. The church’s closeness to the sea meant we were able to get some shots of the newly weds with a lovely sea scape back drop. The reception in Rottingdean took place in a beautiful field (which neighboured Isla’s parents’ house) and was the perfect rural setting for the rustic celebration. The bucking bronco was a real hit and made for some fun photos.

Dunblane Cathedral and Kilbryde Castle, Perthshire, Scotland Wedding Photography – Alexis & Kerstin

It’s been a while since our last blog post but after a busy summer of wedding photography we are now getting around to sharing with you some of the beautiful weddings that we shot this year.

Our first wedding of the summer was Kerstin and Alexis’ which took place in Dunblane in Scotland. As we are London based wedding photographers, this was actually the furthest afield we had travelled for a job, but it was well worth it. The marriage took place in the beautiful Dunblane Cathedral, whilst we weren’t allowed to photograph during the proceedings we did get to enjoy the ceremony and capture the happy couple as they walked down the aisle. The reception took place at Kilbryde castle which was situated in the outskirts of Dunblane and surrounded by wonderful gardens which made for a perfect backdrop. Here’s a selection of images from the day.

Bradfield College, Berkshire and rustic reception at Herons Farm in Pangbourne – Alastair & Laura

Alastair and Laura had their wedding ceremony in Bradfield College in Berkshire. Laura arrived at the Bradfield College in a vintage Triumph Gloria which looked great in the backdrop of the historic college grounds. After a beautiful ceremony the newly weds sped off in their vintage motor carriage having enjoyed greeting their guests and family before hand. The next stop was the rustic Herons Farm for the wedding reception, the exact same venue Dom Rosko had got married just 2 weeks before. Both myself and Rosko were able to make the most of the familiarity of the venue, allowing for some great shots of both Alastair and Laura and their guests. The rustic barn at Herons Farm was wonderfully decorated and after the guests had enjoyed their meals and the speeches the live band began to play whilst Laura and Alastair had their first dance as a married couple. To compliment the feel of the day Alastair and Laura asked us to edit the photos in a vintage style, a highly popular trend in wedding photography. We took a subtle approach to this as to not date the photos in years to come which both suited the photography and the overall tone of the day.

Wedding Photography at Herons Farm in Pangbourne, Berkshire – Dom & Gem

This time it was Dom Rosko of Rosko and Wallis to get married. Dom and Gem’s wedding took place at Herons Farm in Pangbourne, a beautiful part of the Berkshire countryside. The outdoor ceremony was beautifully decorated with rustic wedding decorations and hay bales for the guests to sit upon. The ceremony was beautiful and fun. An acoustic musician played ‘All You Need is Love’ as Gem walked down the aisle of hay bales, The Temptations classic song ‘My Girl’ was sung by Dom and Gem and the guests and there were also several fun speeches. There were various outdoor games such as a coconut shy and a giant connect 4 which was very popular with the children. Luckily the weather held out for the ceremony and outdoor fun but began to pour just as the guests were enjoying their wedding dinner and speeches in the barn, which was also beautifully arranged with rustic and vintage decorations. Special thanks goes to Jessica Mark-Roland who was the second shooter for the day and bridal prep photographer.

Vintage Wedding Photography

A selection of our wedding photography in a vintage style as requested by a recent enquiry. This has been achieved through increasing the contrast of reds and greens and decreasing the blues to create the vintage qualities of an old polaroid camera. Other photos have simply been converted to black and white and a sepia filter added.

What is reportage wedding photography?

As the name suggests reportage wedding photography is a report of the day’s events in chronological order. It should tell a unique story, capture emotions and document the day as it unfolds. Reportage wedding photography is a journalistic or documentary approach to wedding photography, it is very real, spontaneous and therefore doesn’t rely on staged and posed shots that can often feel fake or forced.
