Back in August we had a great day photographing Jack and Eve’s wedding in Chislehurst, Kent. The bridal prep took part in their flat which was perfect for capturing some great moments thanks to the large windows that let in lots of natural light. Meanwhile, Dom joined the groom and his merry men in the pub for the groom prep and drinks.
After the bridal prep and champagne, Eve and her Bridesmaids made the short walk to the Parish Church of St. Nicholas to the orchestra of passing car horns. After the ceremony it was over to the Bulls Head for the reception. A magician wowed guests with his impressive slight of hand whilst canapés made the rounds. After guests enjoyed their delicious wedding dinner and hilarious speeches the DJ got everybody to the dancefloor for a night of partying.
Herons Farm Barn Wedding in Pangbourne, Berkshire and Bridal Prep at the Elephant Hotel – Michael & Ceri
Last Summer we photographed Ceri and Michael’s wonderful wedding at Herons Farm in Pangbourne, Berkshire. We started the day at the Elephant Hotel in Pangbourne where I photographed Ceri’s bridal prep whilst Dom met up with Michael and his ushers for the groom prep.
We then drove the short distance to Herons Farm, a venue that we were starting to get pretty familiar with having shot 3 weddings previously (one of them being Dom’s own wedding a few years prior).
The ceremony took place in the beautifully decorated barn. A harpist played whilst Michael and the guests awaited the arrival of the bride and bridesmaids. After a beautiful ceremony we took Ceri and Michael to the woodland area of Herons Farm for a few romantic shots in nature before heading back to the barn for the wedding feast.
After the wedding dinner, guests signed up to take part in the rodeo whilst a cartoonist created caricatures.
In the evening a fantastic band got everyone to the dance floor, including Ceri’s 90 year old grandmother! Michael really cranked it up a gear, pulling some of the slickest dance moves Pangbourne had seen.
Last year we were the official photographers for The Wedding Fair at Blue Water in Kent. Here are some photographs of the models ‘showing off’ some very stylish wedding dresses and suits during the catwalk.
Wedding at English Martyrs Catholic Church Streatham and Reception at Perkin Reveller, Tower of London – Joe & Lisa
Back in June we photographed Lisa and Joe’s wedding at the English Martyrs Catholic Church in Streatham. Just before the ceremony Joe and his friends had a quick drink in the local pub before strolling over to the church in their matching blue suits. Lisa arrived in a vintage London Bus with her bridesmaids, who were dressed in subtle shades of pink. After a beautiful ceremony the guests boarded two red London busses that awaited outside the church to take them to the next venue, The Perkin Reveller at Tower Bridge. With the sun shining and the champagne in full flow, the guests mingled and enjoyed a montage of delicious canapés. After the speeches, the party really got started with the arrival of two Brazilian carnival dancers who were colourfully dressed in their amazing costumes. It wasn’t long before the bride and groom were up dancing with them too!
Last Summer I married Emily in the beautiful Kentish village of Matfield. Rosko (of Rosko and Wallis) and his wife, Gem photographed our wedding – returning the favour from the previous year when I shot their wedding in Herons Farm in Pangbourne. Because of our smallish budget we had to be extra creative. We were very fortunate to have the venue (a lovely field) offered to us by a friend which really helped and allowed us the freedom of a ‘blank canvas’. We hired a large capri marquee and had vegetarian catering from the Brighton based Foodilic. We had a Ceilidh and an open mic for the evening entertainment. The ceremony was conducted by Emily’s uncle and she was played down the aisle with her bridesmaids by her other uncle on guitar. After the ceremony we had a Jewish inspired wedding dance where the guests danced around us in a big circle whilst an accordion and violin played. The flowers came from a local market and were arranged by family and friends in jars (which were wrapped in hessian) on tables. The bouquets were simple but elegant and were made by the mother of the bride.
Wedding at St. Peter and St. Paul Church, Tring and reception at The Gatsby Berkhamsted Hertfordshire – Mark & Liz
I arrived at Liz and Mark’s house in Tring at noon for the bridal prep photography whilst Dom photographed Mark and his friends at the Akeman pub for a pre-wedding drink. The ceremony took place at the St. Peter and St. Paul Church of England Tring, Hertfordshire. Dom captured Liz’s arrival as she pulled up to the church in a white Daimler whilst I photographed Mark’s reaction on seeing his beautiful bride and bridesmaids walking down the aisle.
The wedding reception took place at the Gatsby in Berkhamsted, a super trendy art deco inspired restaurant and piano bar which was previously a cinema for 50 years. The Gatsby stays true to it’s roots and projects early cinematic classics on its walls making for a fun and original backdrop for a wedding celebration.
Roman Catholic Church of St Mary and St Michael, Whitechapel and Bistrotheque Bethnal Green Wedding – Tom & Rachel
Rachel and Tom’s wedding ceremony took place at the beautiful Roman Catholic Church of St Mary and St Michael in Whitechapel, London. After they had tied the knot we took a ride in their white London wedding taxi and headed to the River Thames for some shots of the couple. With Tower Bridge and The Shard in the background it was an amazing spot for wedding photography and enabled us to capture some true gems of Rachel and Tom as they stood in the heart of the London city centre.
After that it was off to the Bistroteque for the wedding reception, an extremely cool restaurant in trendy Bethnal Green. Gourmet food, champagne and cocktails got the party well and truly flowing until the early hours. A special thank you goes to the very talented Martyna Przybysz who was the second shooter on the day.
